Thoughts for Life Today - September 28, 2016
As I was riding into work today, a song titled Follow Me (Follow Me) sung by the great Maurette Brown Clark, started to play through the stereo of my car, and brought things into perspective. I had in recent times, been feeling really bad, down and out about life and its circumstances that have seemed to land only in my life! As the words of the song played, my heart was pricked by the Words of Life that I have hidden in my heart for so many years (that is the Holy Word of God). The Holy Spirit begin to remind me of everything that the Lord Jesus Christ went through at no fault of His own, but it was His Father’s love for us as mankind, to redeem us to Himself through a perfect man, that could fulfill the Law of God in totality because of His love for the Father with His whole being, and the love He showed for His brethren even in their fallen state. The words were you live a life of ups and downs, of here today and gone tomorrow. Changes you can’t control, they fill you with gloom and sorrow. But my own they call Me a shelter in a time of storm, and if you desire more than wealth, call Me and I shall be there. Follow Me, I promise that I’ll never change, I’m on your side for always, even until the end of times. Just come on and follow Me, I know your hopes and dreams, I too have been discouraged and I know just how sorrow feels. The very hands that bore the nails, right now they are reaching out for you, just for you, and the same old star that led those wise men is waiting now to lead you and now the road may not be easy, don’t you know I promise that I’ll never ever let you down. IF you would only put your trust in Me, like you trust in all your treasures! Just as the tears of disappointment streamed down my face, they were soon changed to tears of joy. The scripture that states that those that keep their mind stayed on the Lord JESUS Christ will be kept in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). I began to think of how badly they beat my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In case you forgot about this, let’s look into the scriptures according to Isaiah 53, the whole chapter:
53 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
King James Version (KJV)
Just speaking on that alone, we have no reason to give up, lose hope, or stop pursuing His will for our lives. I pulled myself up, with His Word that is living. If everyone turns on you (family and friends alike) He is still there, if nothing goes right, if you lose out on the very thing you have been faithing on, it does not mean that there is something must be going to break through for you, it could just mean that He is actually allowing you to be tried to come forth as burnished brass out of the fire that has had all the impurities extracted from it.
Be encouraged and follow me, as I follow Christ!
